Having lost the opening game to Royal Challengers, Mumbai Indians would look for a turnaround against the Champion side. Ricky Ponting’s men have daunting task ahead as Super Kings are stronger team at home. There was not a negative aspect in their game against Royal Challengers as they fell short only by 2 runs. It’s important for the Mumbai Indians to remove Chennai’s top-order batsman in quick succession, or else, Chennai Super Kings would have their noses ahead.

Mike Hussey - He will be available for the entire tournament, which is in fact a big bonus for the Super Kings. He’s a typical match-winner and has the ability to bat for the entire 20 overs. He can be a dangerous player particularly after the power-play. He has good understanding with Vijay, and therefore, Super Kings would definitely look for major contribution from Hussey

Ricky Ponting - Ricky Ponting has played alongside Hussey, and therefore, he would certainly know his technique. It would be a great battle as it would be interesting to see the kind of bowlers used by Ponting to grab the wicket of Hussey. Also, he played a good innings against Royal Challengers. Mumbai Indians would hope for a better innings against the Super Kings tomorrow as he has to lead from the front as captain.

Prediction

Chennai has been the fortress for the Super Kings as they have good record at home. They would indeed, want to maintain the record. They have been familiar with the conditions prevailing at Chennai. Dhoni would know his team in and out well enough. If Chennai Super Kings bats first, then undoubtedly they would emerge winners. If not, we would witness a close-contest, but expecting Chennai to edge Mumbai Indians.
